Evaluasi Program Pendidikan Agama Islam Kejuruan untuk Meningkatkan Kompetensi Keagamaan Siswa
Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) program in Vocational High Schools (SMK) to enhance students' religious competencies. A qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method was employed. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation involving PAI teachers, school principals, and students. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation of the PAI program in SMK is well-planned, encompassing lesson planning, delivery of PAI materials, and evaluations covering knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The program effectively fosters character development in students, instilling values such as religiosity, discipline, responsibility, tolerance, and perseverance. It is recommended that this program be continually improved to achieve optimal educational outcomes. This article explores the evaluation of vocational Islamic education programs aimed at enhancing students' religious competencies. The research seeks to assess the effectiveness and challenges faced by vocational schools in implementing Islamic education programs, which are designed not only to provide knowledge of religious teachings but also to instill religious values within students. Given the importance of religious education in shaping moral and ethical conduct, the study focuses on how the integration of Islamic teachings into vocational curricula can improve students' understanding and practice of their faith. Using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, this research analyzes the current state of vocational Islamic education programs in various schools, identifying the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with these programs. The findings indicate that while vocational Islamic education plays a significant role in fostering religious competence, there are still numerous challenges such as inadequate resources, a lack of trained educators, and insufficient integration of Islamic principles into practical work skills. The article suggests that improvements in curriculum design, teacher training, and the inclusion of practical religious application in vocational contexts are essential for enhancing students' religious competencies. It also emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach, combining academic and spiritual development, to produce graduates who are not only skilled in their fields but also morally and ethically responsible.
