Analysis of the Relationship Between Social Media Usage and the Formation of Student Character and Behavior in Schools as a Basis for Educational Policy

Abstract


This study aims to analyze the relationship between social media usage and the formation of student character and behavior in schools. In the digital era, social media has become an integral part of adolescent life, but its impact on character development and student behavior needs to be explored further. This research uses a quantitative approach with surveys and data analysis involving students from several schools. The findings show that social media usage can affect student character and behavior both positively and negatively, depending on how and how frequently it is used. Therefore, the results of this study are expected to serve as a basis for schools and educational policymakers to formulate strategies that can optimize the positive impact of social media and minimize its negative effects, while supporting the holistic development of student character
