Profesionalisme Guru dan Peningkatan Mutu Pendidikan Di Era Otonomi Daerah

Abstract


The era of regional autonomy presents new opportunities and challenges for improving the quality of education in Indonesia. One of the key factors in achieving educational excellence is teacher professionalism. This article examines the relationship between teacher professionalism and education quality enhancement within the context of decentralization. Teacher professionalism includes pedagogical, personal, social, and professional competencies, all of which influence teaching effectiveness. In a decentralized system, the role of local governments in supporting teacher development becomes crucial. However, issues such as resource disparities, weak supervision, and limited continuous training programs remain obstacles. Thus, synergy between local policy initiatives and teacher capacity building emerges as a primary strategy for achieving equitable educational improvement.
