Otonomi Daerah dan Desentralisasi Pendidikan: Implikasi dan Tantangan dalam Pengelolaan Pendidikan di Indonesia
Abstract
This article discusses regional autonomy and educational decentralization in Indonesia as part of the government system reform that began in 2001. With the implementation of Law No. 22 and 25 of 1999, the authority over education management shifted from the central government to regional governments. This research analyzes the principles of educational decentralization, its implications for school effectiveness, and the challenges that arise in its implementation. The study's findings indicate that while educational decentralization has the potential to enhance the efficiency and relevance of local education policies, challenges in funding, accountability, and the readiness of regional governments remain the main obstacles. This article recommends improving the managerial capacity of regional governments and increasing the involvement of the private sector and the community in supporting quality education.
