Filsafat Pendidikan Islam: Konsep Pendidikan Holistik dalam Pembentukan Karakter Peserta Didik

Akhmad Fauzi

Abstract

Islamic education has a deep philosophy, with an emphasis on character formation that is balanced between intellectual intelligence, morality, social, and spiritual. The holistic approach in Islamic education focuses on the formation of individuals who are not only intelligent, but also have noble morals. On the other hand, conventional education systems often focus more on academic achievement without paying attention to the development of student character. This study aims to compare the philosophy of Islamic education with conventional education, as well as to analyze the application of the concept of holistic education in Islam and the role of teachers in character formation. This study uses a literature study method (library research) by analyzing various written sources that discuss Islamic education, holistic education, and the role of teachers in Islamic education. The results of the study show that Islamic education emphasizes the integration of science and moral values, in contrast to conventional education which focuses more on academic results. Islamic holistic education includes the formation of strong character through moral teaching integrated into the curriculum. The role of teachers as mentors and role models is vital in the process of character formation. Conclusion: Islamic education with a holistic approach has the potential to produce individuals who are balanced between intellectual intelligence and morality. This education provides great opportunities despite facing challenges in modern times.
