Pandangan Pemikir Islam Klasik dan Modern terhadap Metodologi Pendidikan

Abstract


This article explores the perspectives of classical and modern Islamic thinkers on educational methodology within the Islamic intellectual tradition. Classical scholars such as Al-Ghazali, Ibn Sina, and Al-Zarnuji made significant contributions in formulating learning methods that emphasize the integration of rational and revealed knowledge, with a strong focus on moral development as the primary goal of education. On the other hand, modern thinkers like Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas, Fazlur Rahman, and Nurcholish Madjid offer more contextual and critical approaches in response to contemporary challenges, including issues of secularization, educational dualism, and modernity. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research methods, analyzing the works of these scholars alongside relevant secondary literature. The findings indicate that despite differences in historical and social contexts, both classical and modern thinkers emphasize the importance of integrating scientific knowledge, spiritual values, and character building in education. This study aims to contribute to the formulation of an Islamic educational methodology that is relevant, comprehensive, and adaptive to global challenges
